The Final Years
Louis XVIII publicly acknowledged his esteem for Breguet, who was named Horologist to the Royal Navy.
From 1815 to 1823 the firm sold 78 timepieces described as marine watches and chronometers. Some items were supplied to selected retailers the port cities of Bordeaux, Le Havre, and Brest.
In Brest in 1817, Breguet published a booklet on Instructions on the Use of Marine Watches made by Mr. Breguet, an educational handbook full of advice on using chronometers for navigation and checking their correct function.
In 1816, Breguet was finally elected to the Académie des Sciences.
